Chemical attack from ISIL ... Wounded in Turkey

The ISIL terrorist organisation has apparently used chemical gas in an attack it staged in Syria’s Al-Bab region. Some of the wounded have been brought to Kilis. A statement made this morning by the Turkish armed forces read, “Twenty-two opposition fighters came under attack with chemical gas.”

The rocket attack mounted by the ISIL terrorist organisation on the Haliliye area left 22 people wounded. The wounded are reportedly displaying chemical gas symptoms.

In the Euphrates Shield Operation that has been waged by the Turkish Armed Forces for 96 days, four of the ISIL terrorist organisation’s centres have been struck in air raids by Turkish jets. For its part, the rocket attack mounted by the ISIL terrorist organisation on the Haliliye area left 22 people wounded. The wounded are reportedly displaying chemical gas symptoms. The statement made by the Chief of the General Staff’s Office read:

“In the clashes experienced over the day, one opposition fighter was killed and fourteen opposition fighters wounded. Following the firing of a rocket by DAESH in the Haliliye area symptoms consistent with exposure to chemical gas have been observed in 22 opposition members affecting their eyes and bodies. Four DAESH targets located in the Anifah area have been destroyed in an air strike carried out by planes from our Air Force. Logistic activities devoted to the Free Syrian Army staff and civilians have been conducted on a continuous basis through units of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Red Crescent. The Turkish Armed Forces, which are supporting the ongoing coalition operation in the north of Syria that is being used by terrorist organisations and poses a security risk on our border region, are taking all available measures to avoid harming civilians living in the area and are displaying the maximum sensitivity to this end.”

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Turkish Armed Forces allege that ISIL has used chemical weapons in Al-Bab. It has emerged that the Free Syrian Army fighters who were brought to Kilis with suspected chemical poisoning are undergoing treatment in the Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Dangerous Substances section.
