FORMER CHP GENERAL CHAIR BAYKAL:

CHP MP for Antalya Deniz Baykal has said that fear by President Tayyip Erdoğan and the AKP lie behind the presidential system package undergoing debate. Deniz Baykal has said, ‘The fear of prosecution and the fear of politics lie behind this package.’
Baykal, noting that they are trying to make it impossible for the president to be prosecuted for fear of the judiciary, said with reference to the political fear, ‘The 7 June elections were a nightmare for him. He doesn’t want to go through that again.’
