We will continue on our path as far as Istanbul in laughter and joy. Let nobody stand in the way of this. We are ready for all kinds of oppression and provocation.’

CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu embarked on the fourteenth day of the Justice March from the camp site at Cumhuriyet Quarter locality on Düzce’s Kalıcı Konutlar road. Making a statement first, Kılıçdaroğlu said, ‘We are on the fourteenth day of our march and it is a nice day again. Our march becomes more fruitful and pleasant with each passing day.’

‘OUR HANDS HAVE NEVER RISEN IN VIOLENCE, NOR WILL THEY’
Kılıçdaroğlu, mentioning the protests during the march, said, ‘From time to time, there have also been protests, which you, too, witness. But, our hands have never risen in violence, nor will they. On the contrary, following the provocation, both my colleagues and I as well as the citizens participating on the march applaud in unison. This is very important in terms of being a good example of our passion for justice and being a good example for Turkey’s future. We said, “Justice, justice, justice” and we continue to march in this vein. We are determined and resolute.’

‘WE ARE READY FOR ALL KINDS OF OPPRESSION AND PROVOCATION’
Kılıçdaroğlu said, ‘We will continue on our path as far as Istanbul in laughter and joy. Let nobody stand in the way of this. We are ready for all kinds of oppression and provocation. I said yesterday that we had drawn up a twelve-point cautionary text, a circular. The participants in their entirety complied with this circular. I convey my heart-felt thanks to all participants.’

DP GENERAL CHAIR UYSAL ALSO JOINS IN
Kılıçdaroğlu then set off to march in the direction of Sakarya. Kılıçdaroğlu greeted those who expressed support for him as he walked along the edge of the D-100 that splits the town in two. Small protests also took place. With the police taking precautions in front of those venting their reactions, the march participants chanted the slogan, ‘Right, law, justice.’ Near the end of the first leg, Democratic Party General Chair Gültekin Uysal also supported Kılıçdaroğlu by joining the Justice March. The first leg ended at the Small Industrial Estate at the exit from Düzce and a break was taken.
Socialist International General Secretary will participate on the Justice March
Support is growing for the Justice March that CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu launched after CHP Istanbul MP Enis Berberoğlu was sentenced to twenty-five years’ imprisonment in the trial over the intelligence service lorries and was detained. Socialist International General Secretary Luis Ayala, who is coming to Turkey tomorrow, will participate on the Justice March.
Socialist International Deputy Chair, the CHP’s Umut Oran, said in a written announcement that he will take part together with Ayala in tomorrow’s leg of the Justice March. Oran stated that on Thursday they would visit Cumhuriyet and Sözcü newspapers, whose columnists are in detention.
It was noted that Luis Ayala, who would support the Justice March on behalf of the Socialist International of which nearly 140 countries, parties and organisations in the world are members, would depart from Turkey on Thursday evening.
THREE ARRESTS OVER DUNG PROVOCATION
Meanwhile, the driver who dumped dung from a tipper truck in front of the camp site where Kılıçdaroğlu spent the night in Düzce has been arrested by the police along with two other people. It has emerged that the driver S.A. posted footage of him dumping the dung on his social media account along with the note, ‘It is considered shameful here not to treat visitors.’

The driver S.A. and his friends İ.Ç. and S.A.S., who allegedly took the footage, will reportedly be sent to the judicial complex charged with ‘Intentional pollution of the environment.’ The driver is also reported to have been fined three thousand lira under the Law of Misdemeanours.

CHP Group Deputy Chair Özgür Özel also said in a statement he made to Doğan News Agency that they have learnt the truck involved belonged to a contractor company that does work for Düzce Municipality and they were monitoring the matter.
