People’s Democracy Party (HDP) Şanlıurfa MP Osman Baydemir was arrested in Izmir, where he had gone as part of his party’s schedule of events.

Şırnak Penal Court of First Instance left HDP Şanlıurfa MP Osman Baydemir’s statement procedures until the morning. Baydemir will make a statement via video link.

The statement procedure of HDP Şanlıurfa MP Osman Baydemir, who was arrested yesterday evening and is being held in the Social Security Institution Guest House, was left until morning because Şırnak Penal Court of First Instance was not ready.

A case has been filed against Baydemir, who called for protests over the treatment given to dead bodies in Şırnak’s Cizre sub-province on 27 December 2015, for “breach of the Law on Meetings, Demonstrations and Marches.” Beydemir’s statement will be taken as part of these proceedings.

Mezopotamya Agency reports that Baydemir, who was halted by the police as he was passing the Social Security Institution Guest House in Izmir, was informed that an apprehension order had been issued against him by Şırnak Penal Court of First Instance because he had not made a statement in the investigation launched into him for breach of Law number 2911.
