Prior to the rally he held in Konya Ereğli, presidential candidate Muharrem İnce once more invited citizens to make a live broadcast on their smartphones. İnce, noting that he had not seen any news about him in the pro-regime media that he described as the “government’s media,” noted that he had been unable to make it into the headlines apart from in Cumhuriyet newspaper. The key points from İnce's statement were as follow:

There are now two types of media in Turkey. One is the government’s media and one is the people’s media. Just get out those smartphones and start broadcasting live all together. I have been a presidential candidate since 4 May. Apart from one paper, I have still been unable to make it into the headlines. This is how the bosses want it. This is how the bosses want it but I apologise to nobody just because this is how the bosses want it. There remains no TV station or newspaper in the world that has not requested an appointment. But, in Turkey, Fox made an invitation on Wednesday evening. I am not including Halk TV anyway. They conduct journalism. Never mind what headlines they run, our people will make the headline on 24 June. Whether you cover it or not.”
