Kılıçdaroğlu’s first comment on Isle of Man suit ruling

CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu fielded press members’ questions after having come together with self-employed contracted transport providers in Beylikdüzü.

 Responding to a question about his being ordered to pay 197,000 lira in the damages lawsuit brought against him for having alleged that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his associates had transferred funds to the Isle of Man, the CHP Leader said, “Is this not normal? Whose hands is the judiciary in? These damages are to scare me. I will undoubtedly win this lawsuit. Even if not in Turkey, we will win at the European Court of Human Rights. The judge who received the instruction to scare me thinks he can scare me with money. We will make morality prevail in politics in this country. The judge who passed that ruling is not a judge. He cannot be a judge.”

 Phone retort to Soylu

 Also addressing Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu's comment that, “If he proves it I stand in disgrace” with regard to his claims that CHP Leader Kılıçdaroğlu and Presidential Candidate Muharrem İnce had been bugged, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, “My phone was bugged. Numerous colleagues’ phones were bugged. After newspapers in German shed light on the bugging of phones it emerged that the same software was used in Turkey and our phones were bugged. It is impossible for this software to be sold to Turkey without the German government’s approval. This particular software is sold with the German government’s approval. Which of the institutions under the government’s management bought this software? Let the Interior Minister reply to this.”

 Documents for Gülen’s extradition

To a question about the examination by a CHP delegation of the documents through which FETO leader Fetullah Gülen's extradition was sought, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “They will give information about the report. The same information will also be given to Mr Muharrem İnce. I have not seen the report yet.” CHP Leader Kılıçdaroğlu, further responding to a question about the Qandil operation, said, “We are opposed to terrorism. Terrorism is a crime against humanity. Combatting terrorism is the Republic of Turkey State’s most natural right. If there is an act of terrorism directed against Turkey, it is also our security forces’ duty to intervene. We believe that our military is performing the task that is incumbent on it.”
