Abdüllatif Şener names the person Erdoğan went to Pennsylvania with

CHP Konya parliamentary candidate Abdüllatif Şener spoke to Sözcü newspaper’s Özlem Gürses. Here are some important highlights from Şener’s remarks:

 Will you not speak of the details of those America visits?

I have done so. Four people went to America in May 2000. Tayyip Erdoğan, Turhan Çömez, Ahmet Ergün and Ali İbiş. One of them was serving as an MP, in fact. Ali İbiş. Another of them was the person closest to Tayyip Erdoğan in his municipal period, Ahmet Ergün. Indeed, there were claims he was his bankroller. As to where they are now, believe me, I don’t know, either. Mr Erdoğan is accustomed not to bring those with close ties to him into his political entourage, but to disassociate from them.
