CHP’s first reaction to Hazinedar's ousting

“We gave wind of the government’s conspiracy against Beşiktaş Municipality at the meeting we held on Friday. Murat Hazinedar has been removed from office in an unjust manner. There is no law or justice in the Interior Minister’s decision. The government is involved in a conspiracy. They had no compunction over bringing off the conspiracy in which they had been caught red-handed. What kind of dirty dealings are these?
 
“There is no account that our mayor cannot give”
 
We say quite bluntly that there is no account that our mayor cannot give. Those unable to find a reason to make mayors resign or to oust them have started to manufacture reasons. The Interior Minister tells the provincial governor: ‘I am going to oust the Beşiktaş Mayor. Fabricate reasons.’ This government is a conspiratorial government. It hatches conspiracies against elected mayors.

This conspiratorial government has usurped the will of the people. This is a usurpation of the national will. We will not feed mayors to you. Today’s move against Beşiktaş targets the people of Beşiktaş. To say, ‘We have made our decision to oust - you find the evidence’ is a procedure that imposes duress on the civil service and is unconscionable. This campaign is a continuation of the methods used in the FETO period. Now, there is systematic coverage in the pool media and then there is removal from office. The government, in the realisation that is going to lose Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is doing this to cling on here. It is calculating on bringing CHP municipalities into a state in which they cannot give service and taking these municipalities in the subsequent term. This conspiratorial government will get the slapping it deserves in the local and general elections.
