Doubts cast on Demirören’s ability to find credit (24.03.2018)
Atılgan Bayar, who served as a consultant in Ahmet Davutoğlu’s time, has claimed that the Demirören Group will be unable to find the necessary credit to purchase Doğan Medya and state banks will not give this loan.
Atılgan Bayar, who served as a “strategic consultant” during Ahmet Davutoğlu’s prime-ministry, has claimed that the Demirören Group, having announced its intention to purchase the Doğan media group, will be unable to find the necessary credit.
Bayar, posting on his Twitter account about the affair, wrote, “Demirören will be unable to pay the money it has pledged for the Doğan Group. It will be unable to find the necessary credit. Let this Tweet end here.”
Bayar replied to a follower who said, “Don’t just say, ‘Let this Tweet end here.’ Let you also make such a claim as, ‘If he finds the money I will bray like a donkey or something’” “:))) I will bray. Who in return will bray if they don’t find the money? I don’t want you. Let it be someone more serious.” Atılgan Bayar also posted the following: “I don’t think any publicly-owned bank will give a loan to Demirören for the Doğan Group. They’ll go to Tayyip. I don’t think they’ll got a positive response there, either. Tayyip has no need for the Doğan Group to change hands in its current state and before the elections. Those who look at the affair like this are mistaken. Demirören lacks the liquidity to buy the Doğan Group with its own resources. I don’t think state banks will give this loan.”
