Journalist Metin Göktepe, beaten to death by the police 21 years ago, was remembered at his graveside on the 21st anniversary of his death with his family and professional organisations in attendance.

His mother Fadime Göktepe said, ‘Metin was killed 21 years ago. He was a journalist. For me each worker, woman and child is a Metin. Ahmet Şık is a Metin for me. Why is Ahmet Şık in jail? Because he wrote the truth. They killed Metin for doing this.’
