Runaway price rises have left their mark on the Central Bank’s first inflation report of the year. The Central Bank, having raised its inflation forecast for the year from 6.5% to 8%, has increased its forecast for food price inflation from 7% to 9%. Central Bank President Murat Çetinkaya has stressed that food prices are the basic driving force behind the increase.
