İnce stakes all against Kılıçdaroğlu

Following the discussions he had with CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu eight days after the election, Muharrem İnce appeared before journalists in parliament today. İnce commented as follows on being asked by journalists, “Did an offer come your way?”

“LET US NOT LOSE THIS”

“I said the following: ‘You made a great statesmanly act and made somebody who competed against you at congress into a presidential candidate and I did not want to be in competition against you, but there is a hope among the people that they saw and experienced during the presidential election.’ I proposed along the lines that we must not lose this, I could, if he wanted, be General Chair with him convening an extraordinary congress and he would be Honorary General Chair, and he would as group chair and as parliamentary chair manage these affairs within a big brother – little brother relationship.

“IF HE SAYS ‘NO’ THE ORGANISATION WILL SOLVE THINGS”

He did not say ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ It is at his discretion. If he says ‘no’ I will not collect signatures. If he says ‘no,’ the organisation itself will solve this business. I proposed to him that, if he convenes a general congress, I would head the CHP as General Chair and he could also be Honorary General Chair. This is the proposal I made. I don’t know, it is at his discretion. If he says ‘no’ I will not collect signatures. The organisation itself will solve things. I just set out my proposal.”
