SCANDAL Serious crime presiding judge caught red handed taking a bribe
Istanbul Anatolian Republic Chief Prosecution has made a written comment regarding the arresting of a judge who asked for money so as to release a person in return for a bribe during an investigation.
It is stated in a written comment made by Istanbul Anatolian Republic Chief Prosecution that they received a report that judge H.A., the Presiding Judge of Istanbul Anatolian Serious Crime Court No 3, asked for money to release a suspect in an investigation at a time when he was a Penal Judge of the Peace
JUDGE AND LAWYER ARRESTED
It is said in the comment, in which it is stated that an investigation was launched into this report and a technical monitoring and surveillance order was obtained, that ‘Based on the technical monitoring and surveillance order, after USD 50,000, whose serial numbers had previously been noted, had been delivered by the complainant to a lawyer’s office in Pendik, attendance was made by the Republic Deputy Chief Prosecutor and two lawyers procured from the Istanbul Bar Association assigned by this Chief Prosecution and Serious Crime Judge H.A. and S.B., Attorney-at-Law, were arrested pursuant to in flagrante delicto provisions given that the offence was a serious penal and individual offence and to enable the evidence to be gathered effectively.’
