Kılıçdaroğlu speaks of who he got the documents from and hints at fresh documents

CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu participated at the “Equality and Justice Women’s Summit” organised in Istanbul.
 
CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, participating in the programme with his wife Selvi Kılıçdaroğlu, replied to Hürriyet newspaper columnist Ayşe Arman’s questions. Kılıçdaroğlu’s reply to Arman’s question, “What is the most important thing you have learnt from women?” of “To keep quiet” caused laughter in the auditorium.
 
ISLE OF MAN
 
To the question, “How important is the Isle of Man affair?” Kılıçdaroğlu replied, “You are going to turn to the citizen and say, ‘Pay tax.’ The moment they turn on the tap at home, they are paying five different taxes. But, if the children of the gentlemen in Ankara go to another country and set up companies so as not to pay tax in Turkey, there is an ethical problem. In a place where there are no ethics, there is neither equality of women and men, nor justice, nor human rights nor respect for humans. At that place, there are purely and simply individual interests and ambitions.”
 
“NOW, WE HAVE ONE STEP LEFT”
 
To the question, “How do you comment on claims coming from the other side that the documents are false?” Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, “The entire strategy we have set since the first announcement has worked out. As to who would speak about what, this also happened the way we had conceived it. Now, we have one step left. We will also carry out this step today or tomorrow. Then, my public appearances will take a different form. Let me not say anything just now, but one step is left. One more thing is needed and we will attend to this, too.”
 
“LOVERS OF THIS COUNTRY SUPPLIED THE DOCUMENTS”
 
Kılıçdaroğlu replied as follows to the question, “There are insinuations as to who the suppliers of the documents were. Are these insinuations true?”: “Of course it was a person who supplied them, I did not get them from space. But, we did not immediately go public just because they came to us. We looked, investigated, confirmed and discussed. Did FETOists supply them? Not at all, they had no connection. There are millions of people who love this country and stand up for this country’s interests. Lovers of this country supplied the documents.”
 
“HONOURABLE PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO STAND DOWN FROM THE POSTS THEY HOLD AFTER THE ZARRAB TRIAL”
 
As to the question, “What harm will the Reza Zarrab trial do Turkey?” Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu retorted, “Honourable people will have to stand down from the posts they hold after the Zarrab trial. Only yesterday, they were seating Zarrab along with state protocol members. And you also know, there was old mad Kadir. He was an enemy of Atatürk and they seated him along with state protocol members. They called Zarrab a ‘philanthropical businessman’. Now they are enemies of Zarrab. Why? He has turned informer. The man gave bribes. We all know he gave bribes. The takers of the bribes are known and those who gave protection are known. That is why I said that those with honour and decency will have to stand down from their duties.”
 
“THE ISSUE OF THEFT IS NOT IN FACT AN ISSUE FOR TURKEY”
 
Kılıçdaroğlu noted the following to the question, “Is this an issue for Turkey or an issue for the AKP?”: “The issue of theft is not in fact an issue for Turkey. There is the matter of theft and there is the matter of bribery and every citizen irrespective of which party they are from wants this to end. We want everyone to earn by the sweat of their brow in this county; we want them to work with the sweat of their brow, we want them to produce, we want them to earn. But, if the thinking involved is, ‘Let me do someone a turn, let me take bribes, let me get rich quick, let me occupy the offices and echelons of the state and nobody can touch me,’ Turkey will meet with a sticky end. This is the point we have reached. The point that saddens me is that this affair took place in Turkey and we all know about the affair, but we close the affair and now it is on trial in America and our ministers are here. The bribe takers are here and this is what saddens me, what crushes me. I mean, does this country have no courts? Does this country have no justice? The prosecutors who said, ‘There is nothing here’ and the judges who closed the trials in those cases will be unable to give account to their children in the future. This is also the harshest thing. Be sure that those children will be ashamed of their fathers. They will not say, ‘My father did so-and-so in his day’ because after a certain age they will not recognise them as fathers. This is my take.”
 
“WE WERE FOLLOWING A CERTAIN STRATEGY THINKING ABOUT THE REACTIONS THE OTHER SIDE WOULD DISPLAY”
 
In turn, to the question, “With the Zarrab trial out there we also have the Isle of Man here. Does talking about the two affairs at once not amount to getting drowned out?”, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu responded, “We timed the way we handled the Isle of Man. We were following a certain strategy thinking about the reactions the other side would display. But, we did not know when the trial in America would start and what would happen. It was a complete coincidence and it has no connection with that trial, anyway.”
 
THE CHP WILL MAKE THE DOCUMENTS AVAILABLE TO THE PRESS
 
It has become known when the documents that CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu says have to do with AKP General Chair and President Tayyip Erdoğan’s relatives’ money transfers will be made available. CHP Deputy Group Chair Özgür Özel has said that they will be revealed on the same day if an investigation commission is formed into the matter and, if not, by the party spokesperson tomorrow or at the weekend.
 
Özel also, with reference to Zarrab’s comments, called on the AKP for the Investigation Commission to be re-established in Parliament in view of the new evidentiary situation.
