CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said with reference to the further extension of the state of emergency, “They said it would be for a very short time. They are extending the state of emergency again. Parliament is fully sidelined. Why are you reimposing the state of emergency? If it’s the fight against FETO, do it, brother. They are not fighting FETO but fighting the opposition. They are fighting journalists and newspapers that write the truth. Hundreds of our students are in prisons. There is a private who had his throat cut on the Bosphorous Bridge. It is said nobody is to touch them.”

“THEY ARE NOT GIVING STAFF POSITIONS TO NEARLY FIFTY THOUSAND SUB-CONTRACTED WORKERS”

Kılıçdaroğlu, mentioning sub-contracted workers’ problems, commented, “I know they are uncomfortable with us and what we say, but it is the duty incumbent on me and my party to voice the truth. They have made another discrimination. They have inducted a portion of the sub-contracted workers to so-called staff positions and they are not giving staff positions to nearly fifty thousand sub-contracted workers. Why are you not giving staff positions? This is what fitted the whim of the gentlemen in Ankara. We will give a staff position to those we want and not to those we don’t want. My word is my bond and, regardless of faith and identity, we will give staff positions without any discrimination. We will continue our struggle until first-class democracy comes to this country.”

“I WILL SEND THE DOCUMENTS TO MR BİNALİ YILDIRIM. JUST LIKE WITH THE ISLE OF MAN DOCUMENTS”

Kılıçdaroğlu commented, “Truck drivers have problems. Our friends got on a truck and came as far as Ankara. The worked out how much they paid, the bridge, petrol money and everything, and I will send those documents to Mr Binali Yıldırım. Just like with the Isle of Man documents. I will also send this to him. What basically troubles me is the government being insensitive to this extent to the problems truck and artic drivers are experiencing. How can you say: ‘Truck drivers are satisfied with their lives?’ I have not heard any truck driver who says they are satisfied with their life. I call out to one million 350 thousand people: You try being an artic or truck driver. Run on number ten oil. I am with you all the way and I am putting up a fight to solve your problem in this parliament and on the road. I just expect a vote from you in 2019 and let’s teach them a lesson.”

“DRAFT A BILL FOR PRISON OFFICERS TO BE CLASSIFIED UNDER SERVICES TO THE POLICE”

Kılıçdaroğlu said, “I instruct my friends from here. Draft a bill for prison officers to be classified under services to the police and let us bring it down all together. Let’s see if strength is with the people or the rulers. We’ll all see together.”

“ISSUE A DECREE WITH THE FORCE OF LAW AND SAY THAT INTEREST IS ZERO. YOU HAVE CREATED AN ENVIRONMENT CONDUCIVE TO MONEYLENDERS.”

Kılıçdaroğlu commented, “There is something that the government takes pride in. We grew by 11.1%. Exceptional. First in the world. China and India are now to the rear. This did not create huge excitement. The citizen looked and saw there was nothing in their pocket. If there were real growth, unemployment would fall. The growth is not growth based on production. There can be no growth with other people’s money. You can take other people’s money and make a palace, but you cannot lift the gloom from the country. The citizen’s debt has increased, not their income. The number of debt enforcement offices has doubled and they are packed full. They claim to be opposed to interest. Bring it down then, but they can’t. Issue a decree with the force of law and say that interest is zero. You have created an environment conducive to moneylenders.”

“THE CITIZEN BOTH PAYS INTEREST AND PAYS THE HEAVIEST TAXES IN THE WORLD”

Kılıçdaroğlu noted, “The citizen both pays interest and pays the heaviest taxes in the world. The worker and civil servant got no interest. Who got this money? Who got the 620 billion in interest? Without the citizen being aware they get heavy taxes from them by stealth. The moment they turn on the tap they pay five kinds of tax. The moment they turn on the electricity they pay four kinds of tax. You are unaware of this. You think you are paying the electricity or water bill. These gentlemen form connections with the Isle of Man and set up companies there so as not to pay tax. And, when we speak of this, they say, ‘We’ll sue you.’ Do it or you’ve got no guts.”

“THERE IS A BUDGET DEFICIT. ALL TAXES ARE COLLECTED AND THERE’S STILL A DEFICIT.”

Kılıçdaroğlu said, “There’s a budget deficit. All taxes are collected and there’s still a deficit. The increase in indebtedness is 24%. You take so much tax. There’s tax on everything apart from the air you breathe. So, how come there’s this debt? Pay tax and interest and pay the bridge toll. You paid tax so let bridges and roads be made. Wherever this government in the Republic of Turkey state sees a poor person it sets out to rob them. Let them come out and say this is not so.”

THEY REDUCED THE SPECIAL CONSUMPTION TAX ON YACHTS AND CUTTERS FROM 8% TO ZERO. CONVERSELY, THEY INCREASED THE SPECIAL CONSUMPTION TAX ON LEMONADE AND ICED TEA TO 10%.”

Kılıçdaroğlu commented, “In 2016 the special consumption tax on yachts and cutters was 8%. It was zero on lemonade and iced tea. This year, they reduced the special consumption tax on yachts and cutters from 8% to zero. Conversely, they increased the special consumption tax on lemonade and iced tea to 10%. They say, ‘Come what may, the people of this country vote for us so let’s milk this for all it’s worth.’ Don’t let them, brother. They are closing the social security deficit at the worker’s expense. The worker, toiler and civil servant have not gained. Who has? Who has benefited from the 11.1% growth? The worker, toiler, civil servant and farmer are destitute and nobody looks at them. Nobody counts them as human. Has the share the worker, toiler, civil servant and farmer gets of national income increased? It has not. It has fallen by five points.”

“THEY ARE NOW BRINGING MEAT FROM FRANCE. THERE’S NO HUSBANDRY IN TURKEY.

Kılıçdaroğlu noted, “The AK Party’s minister of agriculture used to be given a knighthood in France for the contribution he made to French agriculture. They most probably also gave one to Erdoğan. They are now bringing meat from France. There’s no husbandry in Turkey. When they brought meat from Serbia, I called this meat over which the basmala has not been pronounced. And I said, ‘You are getting it from the butcher of Serbia.’ They said they were getting it from Serbia’s Muslim community. I am curious. Which of France’s communities are you getting this meat from?”

“SEE IF I’LL CAVE IN AND STEP BACK BY ONE MILLIMETRE”

Kılıçdaroğlu said, “When I raise these things, they say they’ll sue me. See if I’ll cave in and step back by one millimetre. I asked him and he said he sold a company for this money. Whose company? Which company? Not a peep. There’s no answer to this question. They say they spent thirty billion dollars on the Syrians and they are all begging in the streets. You spoke of thirty billion dollars at the UN General Assembly. Where did this money go? You rob the citizen slapping taxes on them. There is nothing to show for it. A country should be governed with justice.”

“THEY ARE EXTENDING THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AGAIN. THEY ARE NOT FIGHTING FETO BUT FIGHTING THE OPPOSITION.”

Kılıçdaroğlu remarked with reference to the re-extending of the state of emergency, “They said it would be for a very short time.

“CAN THERE BE 11,000 GOOD APPLES? GIVE THEM BACK THEIR HONOUR.”

Kılıçdaroğlun said, “They kept 11,000 people in jail for nothing thanks to the ByLock application. When we told them they were getting it wrong, they said, ‘Hey, you are FETOists, too.’ The truth has come out that 11,000 people are not FETOists. They turned out not to all be bad apples. Can there be 11,000 good apples? Give them back their honour.”

“THERE IS MASSIVE PRESSURE ON JUDGES. THEY CANNOT DO THEIR JOB PROPERLY.”

Kılıçdaroğlu said, “There is massive pressure on judges. The Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors cannot do its job properly. I call out to members of the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors. If you are going to take instructions from the palace and pass decision, step down from that post. Do not be the Judges’ Palace Committee. They change judges at midnight. Why do they do so? We will fight until the end.”

“THE NAME OF THIS MODEL IS THE HITLER MODEL. WE OPPOSE THIS MODEL.”

Kılıçdaroğlu said, “Is it for nothing that I say nobody in Turkey has security of property and life. If somebody sets out to speak the prosecutor immediately readies a case report. The name of this model is the Hitler model. We oppose this model.”

“THE AEGEAN ISLANDS ARE UNDER THE GREEK ARMY’S OCCUPATION. WHOSE IS PSERIMOS, BROTHER?”

Kılıçdaroğlu commented, “The Aegean Islands are under the Greek army’s occupation. I asked Erdoğan if we have a right and legal entitlement over these islands. Not a peep. They went onto Pserimos Island. I ask Erdoğan, ‘Whose is Pserimos, brother?’ If it’s ours it’s ours, if it isn’t it isn’t. But there is not a peep. Did you sell these islands to somebody and gift them to some one? The Greek Minister of Defence said, ‘Come and get it.’ And I said I will come and get it in 2019. Somebody should come from the government and say, ‘Yes, friend, we’ll get it.’ These people are neither local nor national; they are non-national. Their nationalism is nationalism in word. He’s now looking at the green dollars asking how they can deliver the goods.”
