Inflation in the Eurozone rose slightly to 0.7 percent in April according to the European Union's statistical authority.

Eurostat reported the slight increase, compared to the same month in 2013, was marginally below the expected 0.8 percent. It improved on March's 0.5 percent, which was the lowest point for Eurozone inflation since 2009.

Inflation is still below the central bank's prescribed 1 percent "danger zone" for inflation. The low inflation has recently raised concerns about the need for quantitative easing policies - an unconventional method of injecting money into the economy - to prevent potential deflation.
