Warning notice about Muharrem İnce to state TV and radio

Gonca Aytaş, Attorney-at-Law, asserted in her warning notice that the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) was not using the contributions supplied to it in line with their purpose to conduct equal and impartial broadcasting and was breaking the law. Aytaş, emphasising that the TRT was not impartial and equal, stated that it “clearly constitutes a crime” that it was not giving equal coverage to political parties.

It was stated in the notice in which the TRT was accused of breaking the law that the TRT contributions made until now should be returned to the citizenry and that a criminal complaint would be filed against TRT General Director İbrahim Eren, News Section Head Yaşar Taşkın Koç and other responsible parties for abuse of position.

Aytaş made the following announcement:

“THE TRT IS NOT THE AKP’S ELECTION PROPAGANDA VEHICLE”

“I have sent a warning notice to the TRT, which has not broadcast Muharrem İnce’s rallies, so that it provides fair and independent coverage during the election! Otherwise, I will file a criminal complaint and bring legal action for the refunding of contributions. The TRT is not the AKP’s election propaganda vehicle!”
