Ahmet Şık, who according to the unofficial results has been elected as an Istanbul MP for the HDP, made the following statement in front of Beşiktaş Sub-Provincial Electoral Board:
This is just the beginning. None of us will succumb to defeatism. If we succumb to defeatism, this is precisely when we will lose. We are faced by fascism and a mafia. If we succumb to defeatism, this is precisely when we will lose. We will lose in a place where we do not resist.
