Big reconciliation is the target

CHP presidential candidate İnce addressed citizens in Kahramanmaraş. The highlights from İnce’s speech are as follow:

 -For the first time, everyone will win: In this election, for the first time nobody will lose. Neither CHP people nor AKP people will lose. Neither ultranationalists nor left-wingers will lose. This will be an election in which everyone will win. On 4 May when I became a candidate I removed my party badge and put on the Turkish flag. Since that day, 43 days have passed. This is my 98th rally. We talk of “a president of all of us who embraces everyone.” Well, you will see the Cabinet when, with the will of God and the wish of the people, I am elected. I will include, not only CHP members, but people from all circles on the Cabinet. A big reconciliation, peace-making and umbrella. I will bring all our nation together under this big umbrella.

 -If we do not develop we will grow poorer for a century: The world is changing and if we cannot latch on to this change we will grow poorer for a century. I say “rights, law, justice” when speaking in public. A certain person comes out and speaks of tea, cakes and orange juice powder. I will show you two lies. Somebody who has no compunction about telling the people these lies can easily lie about everything. A general goes to Erdoğan’s fast-breaking meal. And the general applauds when Erdoğan criticises me. And I said, “The general cannot applaud and I will retire him immediately.” What a liar that Erdoğan is. He is a liar who fears neither God nor mortal. He says, “I was praising the military and he was applauding that.” (Shows video) He is not applauding the military being praised, he is applauding me being criticised. He even lies about this. The menu gets more varied. He says he will open reading rooms. First he spoke of tea and cake. I said the menu was getting more varied. I said it would continue with soup, Tatar pie and Albanian liver. He says, “I did not say anything about Tatar pie. Where did you get that from?” (Shows video) What a liar you are. You deny a day later what you yourself said.

 -Hands off mosques: One thing saddened me greatly. He says, “With the election approaching, İnce is never out of mosques.” He says, “Is there a photograph of you in a mosque before the election?” Erdoğan, we go to the mosque to pray to God, not to take photographs. Why are you troubled by me going to the mosque? I am not one to do anything like pray five times a day. But, I have performed Friday prayer since I was fifteen and this is not something secret or concealed. It is not a task I am performing for the election period, either. I occasionally perform morning prayer and I do not do it five times a day. Am I to ask you when going to the mosque? Asking if you are troubled by me going to the mosque. Are you God’s cash collector? A Muslim should be happy at another Muslim going to the mosque. This one is sad. A disgrace. Hands off mosques. That is not a place to be dragged into public debate.

-Putin is taking you for a ride: Putin told him, “Such palaces are the trade mark of major states.” Russia was our northern neighbour and now, at the same time, is our southern neighbour. Russia is surrounding us from all sides and Putin is busy encircling Turkey. And he gets Erdoğan going. He tells him, “You amuse yourself in the palace.” In fact, Putin is secretly laughing at him. Putin says, “Make a nuclear power station, I’ll take the cash and I’ll get you going. Major states have such big palaces.” Erdoğan, Putin is taking you for a ride.

 -The symbol of the nineties is there: I looked and former prime minister Tansu Çiller showed up as well. Erdoğan never stops talking of a return to the nineties and the symbol of the nineties is there. He never stops badmouthing the past but pins his hope on Tansu Çiller. In fact, if she had been up to anything she would have invigorated her party. I will give the summary of the summary: Tarzan is in difficulty. But, let’s make sure we avoid cockiness. This business will happen with God’s permission.
