CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has commented, ‘Fresh martyrs come every day. News of martyrs comes. A Turkey free of terror is our shared desire. Whoever terrorism comes from – whether it comes from FETO, whether it comes from the PKK or whether it comes from the DHKP-C – whoever it comes from, we must all take an honourable stance against terrorism. We must all take an uncompromising stance against terrorism. We must fight terrorism jointly.’

CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu held a press conference in Düzce on the fifteenth day of the justice march that he launched from Ankara’s Güven Park. CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu drew attention to terror in the press conference he held in the morning,

Whoever terrorism comes from ...

Kılıçdaroğlu, underlining that there were those from various sections of society who viewed the Justice March with sympathy, said, ‘We are marching for justice and for society’s conscience. There are indeed those from very different sections of society who view this march with sympathy. Especially many of our citizens who voted ‘yes’ in the constitutional referendum have also stated both orally and on the phone that they regard us with sympathy and support this march of ours. And we thank them cordially. There are also events that distress us greatly in Turkey. Fresh martyrs come every day.

We have applauded those who make the Rabia sign and protest

Also thanking those who made the Rabia sign and protested against them during the march, CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu continued as follows:

‘I have always said, and I have said this in all settings – to government officials – friends, what do you want to put an end to terrorism? They have got everything they asked for. But there is no end. The last referendum came. At the referendum, they plastered posters all over the place saying, ‘Vote ‘yes’ and terrorism will end.’ Now, in the interests of ending terrorism, I appeal to the consciences of all our citizens who voted ‘yes’. You are now being taken for a ride. Think about this. There is no way these people are going to prevent and end terrorism and the like. In our own country, we want to create and construct a country in which terrorism is absent and justice is present. We are thus marching on behalf of the eighty million who want justice without projecting a political party identity here, onto this march. And there are those who support us. So, we are leaving Düzce today. I cordially thank all my friends and citizens from Düzce. I cordially thank all my brothers from Düzce who view us with sympathy and wave their hands at us, and, indeed, who protest against us making the Rabia sign once in a while, or who make the Rabia sign and think they are protesting against us. To the extent that I want justice, equality is also within that logic. Citizens who are opposed to my political thoughts and do not think like me also have the opportunity to freely express their thoughts over the wish for justice. So, when they protest against us or use bad language, we have just raised our hands and applauded them.  And we are most delighted at having applauded. We are in great peace of mind. I cordially thank my brothers from Düzce. A negative event took place. On account of this, many people from Düzce came and apologised.  We have not associated the people of Düzce with that event. We have drunk their water and eaten their bread. In Düzce, I visited the family of one of our 15 July martyrs. We also sat with a family and had dinner. We have sat at their dining tables. I am one who is greatly familiar with their hospitality. I have not come to Düzce for the first time. I have previously been several times, both as an ordinary citizen and as a politician. Now we are heading for Sakarya and, so, after that, Kocaeli and Istanbul.’

Following the press conference, Kılıçdaroğlu continued on the Justice March from where he had left off on the fourteenth day.

BREAKTIME CHAT WITH VILLAGERS

The CHP’s Justice March covered three and a half kilometres in one hour on its fifteenth day and took the first break. Kılıçdaroğlu chatted here with villagers and took a photograph as a memento.
