Pregnant lawyer harassed

While Sivas Bar Association lawyers Gülbahar Koçak and Eda Moroğlu were visiting their clients at Sivas E-Type Closed Prison, two prison governors and ten warders entered and brought the visit to an end. When the lawyers wished to speak to the prosecutor, the doors were locked and they were denied permission to exit.
Even though Gülbahar Koçak is pregnant, she was subjected to a body search. Koçak said, ‘A body search was conducted of us in a non-enclosed space in which there were about ten men. I am 29-weeks-pregnant and my pullover was lifted, offending my personal honour.’ The lawyers were held under arrest for three days.
