Soma mine CEO Can Gürkan arrested

The CEO of Soma Coal Enterprises was arrested by court after being detained with some other executives of the company days after the mine disaster that left 301 workers dead.

Can Gürkan, the CEO of Soma Coal Enterprises, was arrested by court along with 7 other staff of the company days after the mine disaster that left 301 workers dead. 9 people were released pending a trial, while 8 others were freed after a hearing.

The arrested staff members, including the CEO Can Gürkan, were sent to Sakran Prison after the court hearing.
