Soylu: There is no such political party as the HDP
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu came together with taxi drivers at a taxi rank situated in Maçka Park. Addressing those who wish for Selahattin Demirtaş’s release, Minister Soylu said, “Let them not just invoke Selahattin Demirtaş. There is no such political party as the HDP, anyway. There is a mindset called the PKK. The HDP is the masked implementation of this mindset in the field. It is that simple.”
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu visited a taxi rank situated in Maçka Park while campaigning for the election. Minister Soylu, who chatted to the taxi drivers for a while, took a commemorative photograph with them.
“Let nobody expect us to permit an unlawful business”
Touching on the issue of UBER, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said, “I have previously said this about the UBER issue and I say it now. This issue has been debated greatly in Turkey but Turkey is a law-based state and law-based states have rules that apply to them. What UBER is doing is unauthorised transport and they in fact also concede to this. And unauthorised transport to use a legal term is essentially called piracy. That is, they are creating a transport network for which they do not have authorisation. This leads to the following: its name might not be UBER but another name and they can set up another enterprise in the same form with that name. This is the first thing. Secondly, there is a clear point in our laws and it says that commissions cannot be imposed on transport of this kind. And it charges commission because it has to since it works for abroad. Thirdly, it does not pay tax here. It pays tax to another country. There are things connected with our rules we have set down regarding this kind of transport. Let nobody expect us to permit an unlawful business. This would not be correct, either. Following the election, God willing, I think we will all sit down together again and coordinate this business with the involved parties in relation to various standards and bring things into a good position.”
“There is no such political party as the HDP, anyway”
Also addressing those who wish for Selahattin Demirtaş’s release, Minister Soylu commented, “Let them not just invoke Selahattin Demirtaş. There is no such political party as the HDP, anyway. There is a mindset called the PKK. The HDP is the masked implementation of this mindset in the field. It is that simple. Everyone knows this. They also know this themselves. Which one are we to believe in? Are we to believe in the saz-playing Demirtaş? Or are we to believe in the Demirtaş who had 53 people massacred there? Are we to believe in the Demirtaş who says they will visit this on the Republic of Turkey the day after tomorrow?”
