‘THEY THREATENED HIM WITH A GUN’
Major General Mehmet Dişli, the brother of the AKP’s Şaban Dişli who was remanded in custody following the 15 July coup attempt, has alleged in his defence that, in order to persuade Chief of the General Staff Full General Hulusi Akar, he was threatened by the coupists with a gun held to his head.
AKAR SAID ‘THANKS SON’
Dişli, arguing that he and Akar were both victims and heroes in the event, says that Akar told him, ‘Thanks, son,’ and he was on duty at the crisis desk at the Çankaya Mansion from 08.30 until 15.30 hours. Dişli said, ‘The prime-minister is also a witness.’
