Cumhuriyet reporters acquitted

Four Cumhuriyet newspaper journalists including Alican Uludağ and Sinan Tartanoglu were acquitted of the charge of “breach of confidentiality” for reporting on the March 2016 Kızılay attack.

Four Cumhuriyet newspaper journalists including Alican Uludağ and Sinan Tartanoglu were acquitted of the charge of “breach of confidentiality” for reporting on the March 2016 Kızılay attack despite a reporting ban. The court, ruling that the components of the crime were not constituted with respect to the four Cumhuriyet reporters, issued a ruling acquitting each of them pursuant to Article 223/2-a of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
