He said, ‘Sekin and the others of our fallen have honoured Izmir and Turkey. We will keep this honour alive.’ The words of the deceased’s father Mehmet Zeki Sekin: ‘When flowers bloom in the mountains of Izmir, I will detect his scent. Everyone who loves this land will do so,’ stirred great emotion. With the people of Izmir showing great interest in the opening, citizens sang the Izmir March in unison following Kılıçdaroğlu’s speech.
IN COMMEMORATION OF FETHİ SEKİN
CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu attended the opening of a park made in Izmir to commemorate police officer Fethi Sekin, who laid down his life in the bomb attack on the Izmir Judicial Complex.
