Iraq gets its way over Bashiqa

Prime-Minister Binali Yıldırım has reached agreement with Iraqi central government Prime-Minister Ibadi for Turkish soldiers to be withdrawn from the Bashiqa camp, about which Erdoğan had said, ‘It is insurance against terrorist attacks that may be launched against Turkey.’

At the joint press conference held in Baghdad, Ibadi announced, ‘We dealt with the matter of withdrawing Turkish soldiers from Bashiqa.’ As for Yıldırım, he said, ‘We are aware of the Iraqi government’s sensitivity. We will bring the matter to a friendly resolution.’
