Kılıçdaroğlu to Erdoğan: Keep your promise and turn the consulate into an embassy
CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, calling out to the government, proclaimed, “They will go to East Palestine and say they have set up the Turkish Embassy to the Palestinian state here.”
CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu spoke at a mass opening ceremony in Muğla.
The key points from Kılıçdaroğlu’s speech are as follow:
“Why did you rent land in Sudan?”
“For us, it is the citizen, not the crony, that counts. The situation of our citizens living in the countryside is far from promising. They went to Sudan and rented a piece of land covering thousands of acres. I want to ask the individual heading the AK Party, ‘Why did you rent land in Sudan? Is there no land and no seed in this country?’ There was everything. You are going to compete with your own farmers. We kept on saying they did not even know about the sub-contracted worker’s woes and finally they heard. You will sort out the sub-contracted worker’s woes and we will monitor this to the end.”
“This country is going downhill like a truck with broken brakes.”
“This country is going downhill like a truck with broken brakes. We must all together take the country into brighter days. The issue has now ceased to be a right-left fight and the issue is Turkey’s future.”
“Palestine is our national cause.”
“Palestine is our national cause. In the 1968 era, our kids in the prime of their youth went and most of them lost their lives there. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s decision is very important.”
“You will say that you are setting up an embassy to the Palestinian state in East Palestine.”
“I want the government to do what is called for under this decision. They will go to East Palestine and say they have established a Turkish Embassy here. You will keep the promise you have made. You will say that, as the state of the Republic of Turkey, you are setting up an embassy to the Palestinian state in East Palestine. Will they do it? I want them to. We have no embassy in Jerusalem. It is in Tel Aviv. Let us turn our consulate in East Jerusalem into an embassy.”
