In the trial over five children who suffered sexual abuse from ‘instructors’ at a Quran course known for its affiliation to the Nakshibendi order in Konya’s Karatay sub-province, Directorate of Religious Affairs inspectors ignored the abuse and placed the blame on the children. It was asserted in the report compiled by the inspectors that, ‘immoral relations among students’ were taking place.
