‘DRAWN UP BY UNIVERSITIES’

Following the outrage in response to the expulsion of 330 academics under a decree with the force of law, the government has announced that the lists were compiled by the Council of Higher Education and they will be re-assessed. Council of Higher Education officials, conversely, have argued that the lists were drawn up by ‘autonomous’ university commissions.
