Reply to Ahmet Hakan: I am not inviting laughter

HDP presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş replied on Twitter to a comment directed at him by Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan.

Demirtaş responded to Hakan, who had commented, “OK, you like a joke, we have realised that. But, there is only so far you can go with joking! There is a load that a joke can carry, you know,” with reference to Demirtaş in the heading titled, “Brief notes for the candidates to place on their desks,” with the words, “You are right. A full twenty months ago I was virtually kidnapped from my home at midnight and banged up in a cell having no guilt. I am a presidential candidate to boot. As you say, this situation is not at all comical. In fact, I don’t post my Tweets inviting laughter; I do so inviting scrutiny.”
