CHP PROTEST AT THE OUTSET

In the second round of the debate over the proposed constitutional amendment that started yesterday, the failure of AKP MPs and certain ministers to enter the booths while casting ‘secret votes’ caused controversy. During the debate in which the first four articles were approved, CHP MPs staged a protest by rising to their feet for one minute.

Kılıçdaroğlu makes his concerns known
With hours left before the start of the second round of the debate over the proposed constitutional amendment, CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu and MHP leader Bahçeli came together. Kılıçdaroğlu made his concerns over the proposed constitutional amendment known to Bahçeli in the discussions.
Kılıçdaroğlu, in an assessment he made to Cumhuriyet following the meeting, stating that he did not request of Bahçeli that he revisit or withdraw his support,’ said, ‘I am obliged to make my concerns known because we bear responsibility towards history.’
