CHP’s Yarkadaş: We were unable to obtain data from 50,000 ballot boxes
CHP MP Barış Yarkadaş has said that his party was unable to obtain data from 50,000 ballot boxes and the party had no observers at 20,000 ballot boxes.
Appearing on Halk TV’s “Media Neighbourhood” programme, Yarkadaş first imparted information about the reply he had obtained to a question he asked at the party’s meeting following the constitutional referendum held last year: “I asked a question at the meeting about the number of ballot boxes where we did not have an official. Unable to receive a satisfactory reply, I myself let it be known. We had been unable to place officials at 9,700 ballot boxes. This means being unable to monitor six per cent of the vote.”
Indicating that at the party assembly which convened after the 24 June elections spokesperson Bülent Tezcan had said they had been unable to obtain data from 50,000 ballot boxes, Yarkadaş said, “Do you know what 50,000 ballot boxes means? Let me put it in simplified terms. 50,000 ballot boxes means we were unable to monitor 25% of the vote.”
Yarkadaş also said that there was nobody from the CHP at 20,000 ballot boxes.
