No landing ship but the armoured vehicles are being made ready

With no progress recorded in the ‘Dock Landing Ship’ project, which the AKP heralded as being a ‘domestic aircraft carrier’ in the run-up to the 1 November elections, a contract has been signed for the amphibious armoured vehicles that the ship is planned to land. According to the contract, 27 armoured amphibious assault vehicles will be manufactured.
Twenty-three of the armoured vehicles that the company FNSS will manufacture will be used for personnel, two for command and two for rescue. With the ship conceived for use in evacuating overseas missions in crisis and for rescue purposes in disasters, it is argued that Turkey has no such need.
