Turkey’s first neuropsychologist, 81-year-old Prof Dr Öget Öktem Tanör, who was dismissed under a decree with the force of law, says that she wondered if she would be dismissed under a decree with the force of law after having signed the peace declaration, but found the idea to be ludicrous. Tanör, who is concerned about sharpening sectarianism in the country, has said, ‘Living in constant worry will come as an invitation to sickness.’
